Frequently Asked Questions

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently accepting new patients to our practice. Our office is happy to treat patients of all ages, and we also have multiple specialists on staff, including an endodontist and periodontist. That means once you come to see us, we won’t need to refer you anywhere else—we can help you right here!

What can I expect for my first visit as a new patient?

As a new patient, you will be asked to complete a health history questionnaire. Your first visit will involve a comprehensive exam with Dr. Katkowski, who will evaluate the health of your teeth and gums to determine the most appropriate course of treatment for you.  The exam will consist of:

  • Full head and neck evaluation
  • Periodontal screening
  • Bite and jaw joint evaluation
  • Soft tissue and oral cancer screening
  • Diagnostic x-rays (as appropriate)
  • If indicated, a blood pressure check and diagnostic impressions will be taken

Our goal is to get to know you, learn what your dental goals are, and answer all your questions.

Your dental cleaning will be scheduled after your comprehensive exam is complete.

What should I do if I have a dental emergency?

Please call us immediately during normal business hours if you have a dental emergency.  We will do everything we can to make sure that you are treated as soon as possible. When you call in, our team will also walk you through basic first-aid over the phone.  In most situations, the person experiencing the emergency should gently rinse their mouth with warm water, use a rag or towel to control any bleeding, and apply a cold compress to manage pain and swelling.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For your convenience we accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards.  We also accept CareCredit®.

We can help you apply for CareCredit directly from this website.

Does your office see and treat children?

Yes! We are a family dental practice, and children are always welcome here. In fact, it’s best to start bringing your child to the dentist as soon as their first tooth appears. This will enable us to make sure their smile is developing correctly, and it also will give you a chance to ask any questions you have about how to take care of them at home.
